The free DUPR+ preview ends today, Oct 27. DUPR+ launched Oct 13 at $19.99 a year, with the core rating staying free. The paid tier adds DUPR Insights, metro area rankings, AI video analysis, DUPR Replay recaps, a verified checkmark, and up to $130 in member benefits.
New percentile data gives players a useful antidote to rating inflation talk. The snapshot, dated Sept 22, 2026, covers global users with a result in the previous 12 months, doubles only. About 1% sit at 5.0 or higher, 5% at 4.5 or higher, about 16% at 4.0 or higher, and the most common band is 3.000 to 3.499 at 29%. Most rated players sit in the 3s.
Meanwhile VAIR is still courting clubs one by one. Calabasas Pickleball Club, 600 plus members, announced Oct 22 to 23, remains the only named club of size on the VAIR watch, with director Gabe Joseph as a VAIR Pro certified rater. No governing body beyond the National Collegiate Pickleball Association has been found adopting VAIR. No second club adoption was found this week. One club is not a trend.
DUPR's own blog also profiled Riverside, a 15 court Calgary club that recognizes only DUPR, soft launched with 8 courts in April 2026 with the final 7 coming online now. The two systems are competing for the same players, top down versus club by club.
Why it matters: A player can now hold two numbers, pay for both, and still not know which one counts at the next tournament desk. The confusion is the story, and it will keep growing until one system clearly wins the club by club fight. That is also why VAIR is on watch as a possible year end story, timed to players gearing up for the new season.
