Franklin's new C45 shapes arrive at $230, with a video first review to check them against

November 3, 2026

JohnKew has reviewed Franklin's two new C45 shapes, the elongated Dynasty for reach and power and the widebody Tempo for control and fast hands. The review is at johnkewpickleball.com. The page lists $230, with $229 in the specs box, so treat the list price as about $230 and note the page shows both.

Both shapes carry dual USAP and UPA-A certification, including newer break in testing, and JohnKew's favorite pick is the Dynasty 14mm. Franklin is the paddle most of its sponsored pros swing, so a shape expansion from the tour's biggest paddle sponsor is a Worlds week gear watch.

The grit story keeps moving from launch claims to wear data. KewCast episode 128, listed Oct 26, covers secret shopper spin durability results for the Honolulu J2CR Blue Grit and Six Zero Coral Pro after 200 wear impacts, USAP's response to the Jason Aspes letter, and a retest of spin on the Owl paddle plus updated 11SIX24 Ultre Power 2 spin after four months and 200 games. The listing is at The KewCast.

Why it matters: At about $230, this is flagship territory, and that is where rec players should ask what they are actually paying for. A video first review, with lab numbers, is how you answer that question.
